The Thunderbolt LED headlight is a very minimalist and flat headlight. With the headlight (in combination with a matching lamp holder), you can give your machine a really nice flat and close to the motorcycle front. Photos say more than words here.
The light of this headlight is simply a poem. It looks on the one hand visually very nice (especially the central strip) and on the other hand it makes the night into day. The headlight is really nice and bright and ensures a safe ride even in the dark.
Model specific mounting instructions can be found below in this description.
The headlight has for mounting left & right each a M8 thread. On the back are also 6x M6 threads (two each at the top, middle and bottom).
Dimensions:
Housing diameter: 170 mm / Depth: 84 mm / Distance mounting hole (center) to end of housing: approx. 48 mm.
Connectors:
3-pin combo plug: yellow = low beam (+) / blue = high beam (+) / black = ground (-)
Extra cable: white = position light (+) / black = ground (-)
For connecting to a motorcycle that has a conventional glass base connection for the parking light, we offer a suitable adapter (see accessories article in this description)
- On the water-cooled Triumph models, you do NOT need an extra resistor when connecting an LED headlight. Simply connect (best in conjunction with the glass base adapter) and be happy.
- Bobber & Speed Master: For these models we have an extra matching bracket that fits plug & play to the original triple clamp and to the headlight (see accessories article in this description).
- The headlight does not look very nice in conjunction with the original lamp holders (because they stick out too far). We recommend here the LSL lamp holders from our range (see accessory article in this description). Please note the specified dimensions as well as the attachment of your speedometer (eg StreetTwin) and turn signals.
- In the original headlight of the Triumph motorcycles are some cables housed. Since the Thunderbolt headlight has no housing, this is no longer possible with the headlight. The cables must therefore be routed under the tank of the motorcycle (which, however, is possible without problems, we have done very often).
- On the air-cooled Triumph models, you do NOT need an extra resistor when connecting an LED headlight. Simply connect (best in conjunction with the glass base adapter) and be happy.
- The headlight does not look particularly nice in conjunction with the original lamp holders (because they stick out too far). We recommend here the LSL lamp holders from our range (see accessories article in this description).
- If the ignition lock on your bike is on the original lamp holder, this must be relocated. Ignition lock relocation kit: CB00182
- The original headlight on Triumph motorcycles houses several cables. Since the Thunderbolt headlight has no housing, this is no longer possible with the headlight. The cables must therefore be routed under the tank of the motorcycle (which, however, is possible without any problems, we have already done very often).
In the pictures on the white Scrambler, the extra short LSL lamp holder is mounted.
- For mounting on all BMW R nineT models is an additional holder, which is specially made for the R9T models, necessary (you can find this under the accessory items in this description).
- For all Euro 4 models, an additional resistor is necessary so that no error is displayed in the speedometer of the motorcycle (see accessory articles in this description).
